Nubi Yogurt and Ono Hawaiian BBQ Raised Over $27,000 for Haiti Relief

Walnut, California, April 9, 2010 – Nubi Yogurt and Ono Hawaiian BBQ employees rejoice today as their efforts resulted in an amount over $27,000 for their own Love for Haiti Charity Drive. To kick off the campaign, Nubi Yogurt offered a “buy one yogurt get one free” on Valentine’s Day and gave away free yogurt for a minimum $1 donation on the following day. Nubi ended up contributing $30,000 in product across 9 locations to reach this goal. Ono Hawaiian BBQ donated 50% of sales from their signature BBQ Chicken & Chicken Katsu plate lunches on Valentine’s Day from 33 locations. The campaign continued for both companies until the end of the month by accepting donations in exchange for paper Haiti hearts, which were displayed in the store to show the people’s support for this cause.

“The day after Valentine’s was actually the busiest day ever, we had a lot of customers who donated and some even donated $20 and $100.” Patrick Choi says from Nubi’s Arcadia location. “It’s good to know that a lot of people still care about other people around the world during these hard economic times.”

“This has been a great experience of coming together for a cause for both our customers and our employees. I would like to thank all of our supporters for this huge success.” Says Joshua Liang, CEO of Nubi Yogurt and Ono Hawaiian BBQ
